Monitor console
The Monitor screen is the main tool for supervising processing. It is opened from the Monitor item in the top menu and is available to every user; actions that change the state of a processing require the Admin role.
The screen is divided into three areas:
- the filter bar along the top, which also carries the executor status and the executor message list
- the scheduled task list on the left, showing the tasks of the processings that match the current filter
- the detail panel on the right, which shows either the Active processings list (when no task is selected) or the detail of the selected scheduled task
On narrow screens the detail panel is shown as a slide-over instead of a second pane. Use the chevron button on the right edge to open and close it.

Filter bar
Filter chips
Every active filter is shown as a removable chip next to the Filter button. Chips are colour-coded by the kind of filter: processing, date, scenario, group and tag. Click the cross on a chip to remove that one filter; the list refreshes immediately.
The Filter button opens the advanced filtering overlay, where processings, dates, scenarios, groups and tags can be combined.
Quick filters
Three buttons and one menu give fast access to the views needed most often:
- Active processings - resets all filters back to the default view of currently active processings
- Processings active today - restricts the list to processings that were active at any point during the current day
- Quick filter menu:
- Processings active on... - pick a date and show the processings that were active on it
- History of a specific scenario... - show past processings of one scenario
Text filter and message search
The text box filters the task list by task name, group name or task ID. Filtering is applied as you type. Press Esc or use the cross button to clear it.
The Messages button opens a fulltext search across run messages. Use it when you know a fragment of an error text but not which task produced it.
Executor status and messages
The right-hand side of the filter bar shows the current executor status as a coloured button. Its menu offers Pause, Stop and Resume depending on the current state; the actions are available to administrators only. See Executor control.
Next to it, a warning button appears whenever the executor has produced error or warning messages. The count is shown on the button. Opening it lists each message with its severity and timestamp. Administrators can mark an individual message as Resolved or clear the whole list with Remove all. The button is hidden when there are no messages.
Active processings panel
When no scheduled task is selected, the detail panel lists the active processings. A text box at the top filters the list by date or iteration.
Each entry shows the processing label, its status and an actions menu. For a running processing the panel also shows:
- the percentage complete, derived from the estimated and average runtime
- Started and Estimated finish (or Finished once the run is complete)
- a row of counters summarising the tasks in the processing
The counters aggregate several statuses each:
| Counter | Includes statuses |
|---|---|
| Error | Error, Invalid, Cannot connect |
| Running | Running, Prepared, Cancelling, Cancel in progress |
| Waiting | Scheduled, Repeat, Force repeat, On hold |
| Warning | Warning |
| Manual | Manual finished |
| Success | Finished |
A processing that has not started yet is shown in Waiting state, together with the time it will start at, and — for SQL-based scenarios — the polling count, the timestamp and status of the last polling, the value the planning query returned and, if the polling failed, the error message. This makes it possible to see why a scenario has not triggered without opening the database. See Planning for the planning modes themselves.
The Show more / Show history button at the bottom extends the list beyond the currently active processings.
Processing actions
The menu on each processing offers, for administrators:
- Show processing details - opens the processing info dialog
- Add tasks - available while the processing is Running or Paused
- Pause - available while the processing is Running
- Resume - available while the processing is Paused
- Reopen - available once the processing is Finished
These are described in Controlling a processing.
Scheduled task detail
Selecting a task in the list opens its detail. The header shows the task name and four buttons:
- Show task notes - notes recorded against the task definition; the badge shows how many exist
- Show critical path - only enabled where a critical path can be computed for the task
- Show task statistics - runtime history of this task
- Close - closes the detail and returns to the Active processings list
Below the header, the status button shows the current status and opens the list of available actions. When an action cannot be used, the menu explains why — for example Scheduler stopped or Processing not active.
If the task is waiting, a pending icon appears on the right of the panel. Opening it lists the waiting reasons — the specific conditions the task is still blocked on. This is the fastest way to find out why a task has not started; see Investigating a stalled processing.
Tabs
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Runs | Every execution attempt of this task, with its messages. The badge shows the number of runs. |
| Info | Scenario and group, connection, start and finish time, scheduled task ID, native session ID, the Not before / Not after window if one is set on the task, processing ID and its start and finish, average and last successful duration, and the try count in the form n of m. |
| Query | The query or command from the task definition and, where available, the executed query — the statement after placeholder substitution. Both can be copied; Copy with parameters copies the resolved form. |
| Backward | Tasks the selected task is waiting for. The badge shows how many. |
| Forward | Tasks that are waiting for the selected task. |
Both dependency tabs are clickable: selecting an entry moves the detail panel to that task, which makes it possible to walk a dependency chain in either direction.
Task actions
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Repeat | Repeats the execution, keeping all constraints. The task waits for its dependencies and for resource limits as normal. |
| Force repeat | Repeats the execution as soon as possible, without waiting for the normal constraints. |
| Cancel | Attempts to cancel a running task. Whether the task really stops depends on the connection type and on the target system. |
| Set complete | Marks the task as manually completed. It is then treated as successful, so dependent tasks may start. |
| Hold | Keeps the task out of the processing queue. Use it to stop a task being picked up without disabling its definition. |
| Unhold | Returns a held task to the queue. |
| Repair | Starts a repair run. Offered only for connection providers that support it. |
The Task ID and Connection fields in the Info tab are links to the corresponding definitions in the Author screen, for users with the Admin role.
Auto refresh
The task list refreshes automatically. When a refresh fails, the indicator next to the refresh control changes state, so a stale list is not mistaken for a quiet system.
