Configuration

Configuration covers the settings that apply to the installation as a whole, rather than to an individual scenario or task.
Dafne is configured at two levels:
- In the repository, through the Settings section of the Author module. These are stored in the database, can be changed at runtime by an administrator, and are versioned.
- In the application configuration files, read at start-up. These cover the database connection, authentication, logging and the timing of the executor's internal loops. Changing them requires a restart.
Knowing which level a given option lives at saves a good deal of searching — a value that is not in the Settings screen is almost certainly in the configuration files.
